Chelsea Maksimovic, Director

Chelsea Maksimovic moved to Yellowknife in 2024 and quickly embraced life in the North. She is the Manager of Committee and Advisory Services at the Legislative Assembly, where she supports the work of MLAs and Standing Committees. Her career has spanned environmental and energy regulation, policy analysis, academia, and public service leadership, with a focus on helping organizations navigate complex issues and make better decisions. Chelsea holds Master's and Doctoral degrees from Simon Fraser University and is passionate about strong communities, thoughtful public engagement, and creating spaces where people can learn, connect, and contribute. She is excited to support the NWT Art Centre's role in fostering creativity and enriching community life in the North. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time outdoors in every season with her husband and young daughter, whether hiking, paddling, skiing, or exploring new corners of the territory.
