Following our June 17, 2025, Akaitcho Hall Gathering, CBC reported on the thoughts and teachings shared by community members and NWTACI’s speaker panel.

It has been more than thirty years since Akaitcho Hall closed its doors. Hundreds of Indigenous children were forced to live in the residence while attending school in Yellowknife. Now, a local organization is looking at putting an arts centre on the lot that once housed Akaitcho Hall.
